Our client is a well-established Australian food and beverage manufacturer with a strong presence across dairy, nutritional, and beverage categories. Operating large-scale processing facilities, the business is focused on operational performance, product quality, and continuous improvement across its manufacturing network. Due to ongoing growth and investment across the site, they are seeking a Processing Reliability Engineer to join their regional operation.
About the Role
Reporting to the Reliability Manager, this position will focus on improving reliability outcomes across UHT processing and nutritional manufacturing assets. The role will work closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to reduce downtime, improve preventative maintenance strategies, and support site performance initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading root cause analysis investigations for equipment and process failures
- Developing and improving preventative maintenance strategies and asset plans
- Supporting reliability initiatives across processing and utilities equipment
- Reviewing downtime trends and implementing corrective actions
- Supporting defect elimination and continuous improvement activities
- Assisting with capital projects and plant upgrade initiatives
- Coaching maintenance teams on troubleshooting and reliability best practice
- Supporting CMMS/MEX system updates and maintenance documentation
- Working with external contractors and service providers where required
- Providing technical support for plant reliability and operational issues
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Engineering qualifications with experience in FMCG, dairy, beverage, or liquid food manufacturing
- Exposure to reliability engineering, maintenance systems, or continuous improvement programs
- Experience within UHT processing or high-speed manufacturing environments advantageous
- Understanding of preventative maintenance, RCA, and defect elimination methodologies
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capability
- Exposure to CMMS systems and maintenance planning processes
- Ability to communicate effectively across production, engineering, and maintenance teams
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of GMP and food manufacturing environments preferred
