About the Organisation
The Anglican Church Southern Queensland (ACSQ) is one of 23 Dioceses that form the Anglican Church of Australia. ACSQ works to care for and improve the life of the community through its network of parishes, schools, education, and care services (ECS), community services and ministry education. ACSQ operate 133 parishes, 14 schools, 18 ECS, a theological college and a significant number of residential community and social service programs.  ACSQ has three key spheres of operations: Diocesan Operations (parishes and other ministries, ministry education and supporting finance and other corporate services), Anglican Schools and ECS, and Community Services (Anglicare).
  
About the Position
Reporting to the Director, Insurance, Governance & Risk with a dotted line to the General Manager of ACSQ, the Risk & Compliance Manager will co-ordinate, advise and consult across a broad range of key risk and compliance areas.  Specifically, this will include overseeing the below tasks;
  • Managing the corporate secretarial compliance activities, including reviewing structures, lodging documents/notifications with relevant external agencies such as ACNC, and managing external agency corporate compliance for 150 registered entities
  • Co-ordinate periodic reporting from Commissions and other diocesan activities to the Diocesan Audit & Risk Committee
  • Provide advice and support to the organisation in relation to the implementation of frameworks for Risk Management, Compliance and Internal Audit functions (outsourced IA)
  • Co-ordinate Risk & Compliance reporting on a quarterly basis to the Audit & Risk Committee
  • Administer and monitor an overarching policy framework to guide and assist the organisation to effectively manage risk, compliance and internal audit activity
  • Ensure systems, registers and reporting mechanisms are in place to monitor and report on group wide risk exposure and provide group wide training when appropriate
  • Provide support and advice to commissions on their risk and compliance management
  
About the Person
We are seeking a values-based character who possesses relevant experience in risk & compliance or internal audit management. In addition, you will have proven knowledge across risk management, compliance, internal audit or quality assurance within a large and diverse organisation.  Ideally you will be familiar using risk reporting software, be a strategic thinker and be able to respectfully challenge the status quo and drive a best practice culture.
