About the role
Reporting to the General Manager – Commercial, this role carries ultimate accountability for the branded and private label retail business. It's a genuinely diverse, hands-on position — roughly 70% sales and 30% marketing and category insights — where you'll be expected to set strategy and roll up your sleeves to execute it.
You'll lead a team of two direct reports and work cross-functionally across commercial, operations, and finance to drive NSV, margin, and EBITDA targets while building brand equity and consumer penetration for the long term.
What you'll own
- Sales strategy, forecasting and budget management across major grocery retailers and independents
- Woolworths, Coles and Metcash account management — range reviews, negotiations, promotional planning
- Brand strategy and marketing execution across ATL, BTL and digital channels
- New product development and portfolio management through the stage gate process
- Demand planning and S&OP participation
- Category planning, shopper insights, and market analysis
- Packaging sustainability strategy in line with APCO commitments
- Leading, coaching and developing two direct reports
- 5+ years in a senior sales and/or marketing role within Food & Beverage FMCG
- Proven experience managing Woolworths and/or Coles accounts directly
- A genuine brand builder — you understand the science of brand equity, not just the mechanics of trade spend
- Commercially sharp with strong financial acumen across P&L, margin and promotional ROI
- Skilled at drawing actionable insight from category, shopper and consumer data
- An energetic, collaborative leader who brings people with them
- Comfortable navigating a competitive, fast-moving category environment
