About the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Finance Manager to join a fast-growing FMCG / QSR business on an immediate start basis. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is ideal for a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys building, improving, and taking ownership across the finance function. We are looking for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, improving processes, strengthening controls, and making a genuine operational impact as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to the CFO across financial and operational activities
- Own and continuously improve the month-end close process, ensuring accurate, timely, and audit-ready reporting
- Prepare and review journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and investigate variances
- Build and maintain scalable financial processes, systems, and reporting frameworks
- Resolve legacy accounting issues and improve overall financial integrity
- Prepare weekly cashflow reporting and liaise with stakeholders to gather key information
- Assist with monthly management reporting, variance analysis, budgets, and forecasts
- Design and implement strong financial controls including; Approval frameworks and segregation of duties, balance sheet integrity and reconciliations and Audit-ready documentation and record keeping.
- Prepare BAS, FBT, payroll tax calculations, lodgements, and reconciliations
- Support external audit requirements and liaise with auditors and tax consultants
- Lead and contribute to finance transformation initiatives, systems improvements, and automation projects
- Leverage AI and modern finance tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency
- Support broader commercial and operational finance activities as required
- CA or CPA qualified
- 5+ years’ experience within accounting or finance, including experience in a Senior Accountant or Finance Manager capacity
- Proven hands-on experience within a fast-paced FMCG, QSR, startup, or high-growth business environment
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience managing end-to-end finance processes
- Demonstrated ability to improve systems, processes, and financial controls
- Experience working within lean teams and taking ownership autonomously
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Experience with MYOB Acumatica / MYOB Advanced highly regarded
- Exposure to automation, AI tools, and finance transformation projects is highly desirable
