As a result, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to support accurate financial management, reporting, and compliance across funded projects while providing financial insight to support operational decision-making.

This is a hands-on and commercially relevant accounting role, focused on ensuring the integrity of grant funding, supporting operational teams, and providing meaningful reporting to leadership. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, helping them understand funding constraints, manage project performance, and proactively identify risks.

This role suits someone looking for part-time flexibility (open to 3 or 4 days) while still being involved in impactful, high-level finance work. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accounting for projects and funding arrangements, including revenue and cost tracking
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and funding requirements
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support
  • Prepare regular financial reports, including performance analysis and variance reporting
  • Monitor and escalate financial risks and issues
  • Assist with accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end processes
  • Contribute to process improvements and general finance activities
A bit about you: 
  • CA/CPA qualified (or working towards)
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition and/or grant accounting
  • Experience managing deferred income / contract liabilities
  • Confident communicator who can engage with non-finance stakeholders and maintain strong relationships 
  • Proactive, with sound judgement and the ability to challenge constructively
Desirable:
  • Experience in NFP, healthcare, or government-funded environments
  • Exposure to grants, acquittals, or funding agreements
