Our client is a global process automation and industrial IT specialist, headquartered in Denmark and operating across 12 countries. Working as a system integrator, they engage across the full project lifecycle - from scoping through to commissioning - predominantly across food, dairy, and beverage manufacturing environments including breweries, wineries, abattoirs, and rendering facilities.
The Australian business was established in 2020 and has grown to a team of 8 engineers in Victoria. This role is the first Sydney-based hire as the business looks to establish a permanent local presence in the NSW market.
The Role
The company has no existing Sydney office - this role will be embedded directly in project work across NSW, operating autonomously and collaborating remotely with the wider Australian team. The successful candidate will plug into live project work from day one. There is an established team in VIC with offices that this person will work with closely.
Travel is a regular part of the role. Clients are spread across domestic sites - including rural and regional locations - and commissioning work will require multi-day stays onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- PLC and SCADA system programming, development, and commissioning across process industry environments
- Working with clients across food, dairy, and beverage manufacturing sites - including breweries, wineries, abattoirs, and rendering facilities
- Collaborating remotely with the Victoria-based team across active projects
- Developing and maintaining technical documentation
- Providing onsite support and client-facing technical delivery throughout the project lifecycle
- 5 years minimum in industrial automation within a process environment
- Rockwell / Allen-Bradley / Siemens PLC experience
- SCADA/HMI platform experience across Ignition, AVEVA System Platform (Wonderware), or FactoryTalk View
- SCADA database knowledge - essential
- Strong process industry knowledge - P&IDs, process flow, and how food/dairy/beverage plants operate
- Comfortable operating autonomously and collaborating remotely with a geographically dispersed team
- Willing to travel for multi-day site stays and commissioning work
