Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Bookeeper/Senior Accounts Team Lead to join their growing organisation during an exciting period of transformation. This newly created role will establish and lead the local finance function, overseeing day-to-day finance operations, financial reporting, compliance, payroll, and process improvements.
Reporting to senior management, you will work closely with operational leaders and external accountants, while managing the Assistant Accountant.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable function, including collections, allocations, customer account maintenance, and credit management.
- Manage the accounts payable function.
- Review and approve invoices, credit notes, and other financial transactions.
- Coordinate payroll through the outsourced payroll provider, including reviewing timesheets, approvals, and payroll processing.
- Monitor cash flow, banking activities, and working capital to support business operations.
- Liaise with external accountants regarding BAS, taxation obligations, statutory compliance, and month-end reporting.
- Prepare month-end reporting, financial analysis, budgeting support, and assist with audit requirements.
- Develop, document, and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls as the finance function is brought onshore.
- Provide ad hoc operational support.
- Manage and support the Assistant Accountant, overseeing the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable and ad hoc finance tasks.
- Previous experience in a broad accounting or bookkeeping role with responsibility across the full finance function.
- Strong experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll oversight, month-end processes, and financial reporting.
- The ability to establish new processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies.
- A hands-on approach with the confidence to work closely with operational and blue-collar teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience using Pronto and/or Wage Easy is highly regarded.
