About the Organisation
Our client is a well-established law firm operating within a professional services environment, known for its high-performing finance function and strong internal culture. They are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join on a temporary basis, with potential to transition to permanent.
About the Role
Reporting to the Credit Manager, you will take ownership of a large and complex debtor ledger within a fast-paced, corporate environment. This is a highly stakeholder-focused role requiring a professional and relationship-driven approach to collections.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a large, high-value debtor ledger with a focus on timely collections
- Leading end-to-end collections activity, including complex and escalated matters
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Partners
- Conducting regular ledger reviews and providing updates on outstanding debt
- Maintaining a non-adversarial, client-focused approach to collections
- Working closely with billing and AR teams to resolve invoicing issues
- Supporting credit assessments, onboarding and risk management processes
- Preparing aged debtor reports and providing cashflow insights
You will be an experienced Credit Controller who thrives in a professional services environment and is confident dealing with senior stakeholders.
Ideally, you will bring:
- 5+ years proven experience managing large, complex debtor ledgers
- Strong end-to-end collections experience in a corporate environment
- Background in a law firm or professional services highly preferred
- Excellent communication skills with a polished, professional approach
- Ability to balance firm collections with maintaining client relationships
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience with practice management systems
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Immediate start – temp role with potential to go permanent
- $50 - $60 per hour + super (depending on experience)
