About the role 
In this long-term contract role, you will be working for a multi-billion dollar plus global organisation, you will be responsible for business partnering for an iconic brand and providing financial analysis and advice to leadership teams.
  
The responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will be responsible for providing commercial support and advice to the business, using data to drive performance reporting, planning and insightful analysis that improves and supports decision-making. Other duties include (but not limited to):

  • Provide detailed analysis and recommendations on category pricing, ranging and promotional activities
  • Proactively communicate commercial impacts on past and future activities amongst stakeholders
  • Develop Initiatives to improve visibility and accountability of the categories financials and performance
  • Support strategic and project analysis to drive improved returns on capital investments and business initiatives
  • Play the role of commercial advisor in all category activities, including supplier negotiations and discussion
  • Proactively work with key stakeholders to optimise ways of working across the merchandise business teams
  • Proactively liaise with relevant teams on cross functional activities (eg: Trade Planning and Promotional calendars)
  • Support broader commercial finance team when necessary and ensure Merchandise strategies are widely known across the broader finance team
  • Support the production and distribution of weekly and monthly performance reporting including Merchandise and Leadership packs
  • Responsible for the end to end financial compliance of the category (including robust accruals, forecasts and budgets. cost centre performance and R&O tracking)
  • Support Merchandise category stakeholders with timely information on KPI’s, including stock levels and associated risks
  • Support the forecast and budget  processes
  • Responsible for building ad hoc reports and analysis based on the needs of the category teams
  • Pro-actively rationalise reporting and ad hoc requests, through a culture of continuous Improvement
  • Introduce new reporting dashboards and performance reporting to highlight new opportunities for growth
  • Support centralised merchandise responsibilities (eg: Weekly Merchandise reporting and month end admin processes)
  • Ad hoc projects and analysis as required
  
The successful applicant will have
You will be a CA/ CPA qualified accounting professional with a proven track record in an analytical role within a large corporate, preferably Retail or similar. You will have excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills, with a creative flair. You will have advanced financial modelling and data analysis skills.
