Sharp and Carter is presently working with a large health organisation in their search for an experienced Senior Finance Data Analyst to join their Finance Business PArtnering team in a critical and strategic role.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Head of FP&A and also reporting to operations team, you will support the team with data analytics and will investigate and implement opportunities for and introduction of data automation, to improve capability to support business decision making and improve analysis and reporting capabilities. Your key responsibilities will also require you to:
- Challenge the existing processes and continually assess systems and processes for simplification and optimisation through stakeholder engagement and proactively assessing business requirements
- Support with driving the journey of automation and self-service reporting to increase analytical support provided
- Create and maintain process and procedures documentation
- Support the introduction of data analytics for revenue and cost improvements
- Create data models and trends to help the business understand their revenue and cost drivers. Continuously evaluate the effectiveness and improve on the models used
- Support business initiatives through data analysis – such as before/after comparisons
- Seek feedback and evaluate improvement opportunities in the provision of data analytics. Analyse, interpret and communicate the results of data analysis activities
- Generate insights and recommendations from the analysis, including insights that go beyond the initial request
To be considered for this role, we are seeking experienced candidates who possess working knowledge and high levels of proficiency with SQL, Microsoft Access and management of large datasets. Given the exposure of this role to various management and senior leadership teams within the organisation strong presentation, reporting and communication skills (written and oral) is a must.
*Please note - this is not an pure technical IT role as the position sits within a finance team. Candidates must have a working understanding of financial/accounting concepts and data.
