About the Role
This is a key role within the Financial Control team, responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the broader business with financial insights. The role is suited to a technically strong accountant who also enjoys driving process improvements and working closely with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Own month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards
- Balance sheet reconciliations and management of general ledger integrity
- Partner with internal teams to support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns, BAS, FBT and liaise with external auditors
- Support the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and controls
- Mentor and review work of junior team members
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for senior leadership
- CA/CPA qualified (or close to completion)
- 5-10 years' experience in financial accounting, ideally starting in Big 4 or mid-tier audit
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian accounting standards
- Confident communicator who can build relationships across the business
- Experience working with large ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Naturally curious with a mindset for process improvement and problem-solving
