About the Role

This is a pivotal role within Group External Reporting & Advice, focused on assessing the accounting impact of complex and high-value transactions across the Group. You’ll partner closely with the Technical Accounting Manager to provide guidance, draft technical accounting papers, and support key decisions.
The role is heavily weighted towards technical accounting (circa 70–80%), while also supporting external reporting and group consolidation during reporting periods.

What You’ll Do

• Research and assess accounting treatments under AASB / IFRS for complex transactions
• Draft high-quality technical accounting papers and recommendations
• Partner with stakeholders to provide clear, commercial accounting advice
• Review contracts and provide accounting sign-off
• Support external reporting at half-year and year-end
• Assist with group consolidation activities at month-end (journals, eliminations, equity accounting)
• Review key balance sheet reconciliations and accounting judgments across the Group
• Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors

What We’re Looking For

• CA qualified with 2–5 years+ post-qualification experience
• Big 4 / Mid-tier audit background or technical accounting experience in a large corporate
• Strong technical accounting foundation with exposure to complex accounting issues
• Ability to translate complex accounting into clear, concise written papers
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders
• Eagerness to develop deep technical expertise in a complex environment
