Our client, a leading organisation within the financial services sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their high-performing finance team on a 7-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant to step into a broad role with exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, regulatory compliance and process improvement initiatives.
Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information while supporting key business stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end accounting processes, including journals, accruals and reconciliations
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Support financial reporting and analysis activities
- Assist with cashflow monitoring and forecasting
- Prepare regulatory returns, BAS, statutory reporting and audit requirements
- Analyse large volumes of financial data and investigate variances
- Support commission calculations and partner reporting
- Assist with process improvement and finance transformation initiatives
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical support where required
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors
- Previous insurance industry experience is essential
- CA or CPA qualified
- Proven experience in a Senior Financial Accountant position
- Strong month-end, balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Previous financial services or insurance experience highly regarded
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment

- $140k - $160k package (pro rata)
