We are partnering with a large, diversified organisation operating across multiple business lines, currently seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant (Leases/Fixed Assets) to support a critical period across year-end and audit. This is a hands-on role with real ownership across asset accounting, lease accounting, and financial control, within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
The Role
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial results, with a strong focus on assets, leases, and project accounting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and support month-end and year-end close
- Ownership of fixed assets, capitalisation, disposals, and depreciation
- Manage lease accounting (AASB 16 / IFRS 16) including ongoing adjustments
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Support audit deliverables (internal & external)
- Partner with operational stakeholders to resolve accounting issues
- Provide oversight and guidance to junior team members
- Drive process improvements and efficiencies
About You
You are a technically strong accountant who thrives in a fast-moving environment and is comfortable stepping up when needed.
Key requirements:
- CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent experience)
- ~5–7 years’ experience in financial accounting with strong experience in:
- Asset accounting
- Lease accounting (AASB 16 / IFRS 16)
- Experience in multi-entity / complex organisations
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work autonomously and meet tight deadlines
- Experience in asset-heavy or infrastructure environments
- Exposure to project accounting
