The Position 
Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Bargaining and working in the Human Resources Branch of this large, State Government Department, you will support the team undertaking enterprise bargaining activities for the department. You will provide high level oversight and project management of the enterprise bargaining cycle, record keeping, advice and reporting to assist with the development and implementation of certified agreements. This position has two direct reports and is a hands-on, team-based role which will provide authoritative advice and services to management on all employee and industrial relations matters. The position requires technical expertise, strong leadership skills, navigation of complex relationships and the ability to quickly pivot in performance and delivery models.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Use contemporary project management approaches and techniques to lead and manage project planning, governance, monitoring, risks and reporting to ensure enterprise bargaining is conducted in accordance with the department’s policies and objectives.  Support a program of activity (e.g. multiple certified agreements to be renegotiated in 2022) with various activity leads.
  • Manage project planning, performance, achievement of outcomes within agreed schedule including management of resources, technologies and applying systems and processes to maximise the efficient and timely conduct of enterprise bargaining.
  • Liaise and engage with a high level of professionalism with internal and external stakeholders in relation to enterprise bargaining.
  • Prepare submissions, briefs, reports and correspondence of a complex nature relating to the planning, coordination and implementation of the program of work.
  • Foster a team culture that is responsive and agile with excellent attention to detail and meets deadlines.
  
Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated high level, recent knowledge and experience in leading projects or key initiatives, showing proven ability to apply project or similar methodology to monitor progress, risks and issues to inform decision making;
  • Proven ability to build and sustain productive and effective relationships and undertake high level engagement and problem solving with a network of diverse stakeholders, internal and external, and apply interpersonal skills in consultancy, negotiation and oral presentation;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations/Employment Relations, Law or related business discipline;
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating multiple enterprise bargaining agreements at once, in conjunction with a team.
