We are seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join a commercially focused finance team within a mining environment.
This role will play a key part in driving cost control, budgeting, and performance analysis, while acting as a true business partner to operational and site-based stakeholders.
The position is suited to a candidate who enjoys working closely with the business, influencing decision-making, and providing clear, actionable financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Control & Analysis
- Monitor and analyse operational and project costs
- Deliver variance analysis and identify key cost drivers
- Provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead budgeting and reforecasting processes
- Partner with operations to build accurate forecasts
- Track performance against plan and highlight risks/opportunities
- Business Partnering
- Work closely with site and operational teams
- Translate financial data into commercial insights
- Support decision-making across production and cost initiatives
- Reporting
- Prepare monthly management reports and performance packs
- Provide clear commentary for senior leadership
- Support continuous improvement in reporting processes
- CA/CPA qualified (or near completion)
- 5+ years' experience in management accounting or commercial finance
- Mining, resources, or heavy industry experience preferred
- Strong cost control and financial analysis capability
- Proven ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience (Pronto/SAP/Oracle) advantageous
- Commercially minded and outcomes-focused
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Proactive, hands-on approach
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, operational environment
