The Organisation

They are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to to join their fast paced environment for a minimum 12 month period (scope of longer term), due to this exciting growth and transformation period. You will be required to work in a close knit payroll team, and act as the "right hand man" to the Payroll Manager in an end to end role! This is a rare and exciting career development opportunity.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately on a fortnightly and monthly basis across the organisation for 1000+ staff
  • Interpretation of all relevant awards and entitlements
  • Calculations of payroll tax, superannuation and work cover
  • Handle escalated payroll inquiries 
  • Partner with the leadership team to identify, recommend and drive process improvements 
  • Assist with reviewing and updating of payroll policies & procedures 
  • Support the Payroll Manager in providing fellow team members with induction and training where required
  • Reporting duties 

Candidate Profile:
The successful applicant will have proven experience processing payroll in a large organisation, as well as the following attributes:
  • Experience interpreting EBA and awards and offering accurate information to the organisation;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to liaise confidently with colleagues;
  • High attention to detail and level of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment;
  • Experience in process improvement and implementation is desired, but not essential;
  • An approachable persona with strong interpersonal skills;
  • A proactive approach to work, with an ability to build strong rapport with varying stakeholders
