The Organisation

Our client is large US multinational organization and leader in their industry.  Due to growth, they are looking for a commercially minded Payroll Team Leader/Senior Payroll Officer who can help mentor and lead the payroll team and essentially work hand-in-hand with the Payroll Manager in a 2iC role.  This is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your payroll career as a 2iC.


The Role

They are seeking an experienced Payroll Team Leader/Senior Payroll Officer to join their fast-paced environment in a permanent, full-time capacity in an end-to-end 2iC position.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately in a high volume environment
  • Interpretation of all relevant awards and entitlements
  • Calculations of payroll tax, superannuation and work cover
  • Handle escalated payroll inquiries 
  • Partner with the leadership team to identify, recommend and drive process improvements 
  • Assist with reviewing and updating payroll policies and procedures 
  • Support the Payroll Manager in supporting team members in terms of mentoring and leadership
  • Reporting duties 

Candidate Profile:

The successful applicant will have proven experience processing payroll in a large organisation, as well as the following attributes:
  • Experience in high volume payroll environments
  • Prior experience with ADP Payforce is essential with Time Target as icing on the cake
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or mentoring of teammates in a prior role
  • Experience interpreting EBA and awards and offering accurate information to the organisation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to liaise confidently with colleagues
  • High attention to detail and level of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in process improvement and implementation is desired, but not essential
  • An approachable persona with strong interpersonal skills
  • A proactive approach to work, with an ability to build a strong rapport with varying stakeholders
