An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Tax Manager to join a leading professional services organisation in a pivotal leadership position.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the organisation's tax function, providing strategic tax advice, ensuring compliance across multiple entities, and leading tax governance and risk management initiatives. This is a broad role combining technical tax expertise, stakeholder engagement, process improvement and leadership responsibilities.
What You'll Do
- Lead all direct and indirect tax compliance activities across the organisation
- Provide strategic tax advice to senior leaders and key stakeholders
- Manage tax governance frameworks and tax risk management processes
- Lead ATO reviews, audits, disputes and external advisor relationships
- Monitor legislative changes and assess business impacts
- Prepare tax reporting, forecasting and board-level tax updates
- Identify opportunities to optimise tax processes and controls
- Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner with finance and operational teams on business projects and transactions
- Mentor and develop team members within the tax function
- CA, CPA and/or CTA qualified
- 10+ years' experience in tax within professional services, consulting, or large corporate environments
- Strong technical expertise across corporate tax, GST, FBT and employment taxes
- Experience managing ATO audits, reviews and tax risk matters
- Knowledge of international tax and transfer pricing principles
- Proven ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders
- Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving capability
- Leadership experience with a focus on coaching and development
- Broad leadership role with significant autonomy
- Exposure to executive and board-level stakeholders
- Mix of strategic advisory, governance and operational tax responsibilities
