Sharp & Carter is partnering with a large scale, market leading organisation to recruit an experienced UKG Payroll Systems Administrator.  This position will play a critical role in supporting, optimising and governing the organisation’s UKG payroll platform, acting as the technical SME and key liaison between Payroll, HR, IT and external vendors.


The Role

Reporting into senior finance and payroll leadership, this role will see you take ownership of the UKG payroll system, ensuring stability, optimisation and continuous improvement across a high‑volume, enterprise environment.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Acting as the system administrator and subject matter expert for the UKG payroll platform
  • Managing system configuration, upgrades, testing, releases and ongoing optimisation
  • Supporting payroll operations through system troubleshooting, reporting and technical advice
  • Partnering with Payroll, HR and IT teams to ensure system integrity and compliance
  • Leading system enhancements, process improvements and integration activities
  • Supporting audit, controls and governance requirements within the payroll environment
  • Managing relationships with external vendors and implementation partners

About You


To be successful, you will be a technically strong payroll systems professional with deep UKG experience and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.

You will bring:
  • Proven hands‑on experience as a UKG Payroll Systems Administrator or similar role
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, compliance and controls in a large organisation
  • Demonstrated experience supporting system upgrades, enhancements and testing cycles
  • Ability to translate technical system knowledge into practical business solutions
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience working in complex, high‑volume or multi‑site environments (highly regarded)
