Sharp and Carter is partnering with a leading company in the creative and production industry who are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant Assistant Contractor with expertise in Xero and Accounts Receivables. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Senior Financial Accountant and with the potential to grow into an Accounts Receivable Lead role and work with the global FP&A team.
The Role
Reporting into the Senior Financial Accountant, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
- Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts and ensure timely collection.
- Communicate effectively with clients to resolve payment issues and discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports related to accounts receivable.
- Assist in preparing financial statements in compliance with accrual accounting principles.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely invoicing and payments.
- Support the finance team in month-end and year-end closing processes, including debtors/cash flow management, and chasing payments.
- Strong communication skills, with confidence in resolving payment issues and handling invoice requests.
- Proficiency in the accounts receivable process, including accrual accounting and working with balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience in reconciliations.
- Proven ability in chasing debtors and managing collections.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA) or currently studying towards CA/CPA is a plus.
