The Position

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager within a values-driven organisation. This is an initial temporary assignment, with a view to extension and potential permanency.

Reporting to the Finance Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the accounts receivable function, driving process improvements, strengthening controls, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team culture. This role suits a hands-on leader who enjoys balancing operational delivery with coaching, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of Accounts Receivable Officers
  • Oversee end-to-end accounts receivable operations, including billing, collections, allocations, and reconciliations
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and cash collection in line with agreed KPIs
  • Monitor aged receivables and proactively manage credit risk
  • Review and improve AR processes, systems, and controls
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve billing and customer issues
  • Prepare AR reporting, analysis, and forecasts for management
  • Support month-end close activities and audit requirements
Skills & Experience
  • Experience managing or supervising an Accounts Receivable team
  • Strong understanding of AR processes, controls, and best practice
  • Demonstrated ability to drive performance and process improvement
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
  • High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail
  • Experience working within purpose-driven, not-for-profit, or community-focused organisations (desirable)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems
