About the Role
  
In support of GAWB’s strategic focus on operational excellence, the newly created position of Asset Management Specialist – FGP will play a key role in integrating the Fitzroy to Gladstone Pipeline (FGP) into the broader GAWB water network. This position will lead the development and implementation of best-practice asset management processes across a diverse and complex asset base, including pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, diesel generation, and HV/LV electrical systems.
  
Initially focused on establishing asset management frameworks for over $1B in new infrastructure, the role will evolve as the pipeline transitions to steady-state operations. In this phase, the Asset Management Specialist will provide ongoing governance and oversight, ensuring robust asset management processes are embedded and adhered to. The position will serve as a key liaison between the FGP Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contractor and GAWB’s internal network team, supporting continuous improvement, compliance, and asset performance reporting.
  
About You

You will be a technically skilled professional with experience in developing and implementing asset management systems, ideally within infrastructure, utilities, or heavy industry settings. A strong communicator and collaborator, you bring the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions and drive consistency in maintenance and asset planning. Your understanding of industry standards, safety, and compliance frameworks, along with your capacity for structured process development, will ensure your success in this dynamic role.
  
Qualifications & Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical) or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in asset management and maintenance planning
  • Proven capability in developing and improving asset management processes within a CMMS
  • Working knowledge of change management and document control
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with multidisciplinary internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including MS Project
  • Current “C” Class Driver’s Licence
  • Desirables include RPEQ; Experience using TechnologyOne for asset management; and certification as a Practitioner in Asset Management.
