Sharp & Carter has partnered with a $150m AUD turnover business located in the inner suburbs of the South-East. Due to an expansion in business operations, they are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their growing finance team.
The Role | Reporting into the Finance Manager
This is a multi-faceted role with accountability for two main functions:
1: Account Receivable
Perform all tasks related to the Accounts Receivable function ensuring that receipts from customers are recorded and entered in a timely manner.
Provide support to all stakeholders both internally and externally by answering and resolving queries in a professional, prompt, and friendly manner:
- Maintain and reconcile the accounts receivable system to ensure that all discrepancies are investigated and rectified prior to correct balancing.
- Provide financial, administrative, and clerical support and contribute to the ongoing improved efficiencies and operational effectiveness of the finance department
Assist and support the Finance Manager and other internal and external stakeholders by completing routine finance and accounting tasks. Help with the preparation of forecasts, maintaining reports and completing finance / accounting duties for the company.
- Maintain and reconcile the end-to-end process of the fixed asset system to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Prepare and maintain the daily bank reconciliation to ensure all entries / items are followed up and cleared within timeframe and in an efficient and effective matter.
You will be tertiary qualified in a Commerce or Accounting degree, with a minimum of two years of prior experience in a similar role managing the end-to-end accounts receivable function and hands-on general reconciliation knowledge. Preferably, you will also have experience maintaining the Fixed Asset Register.
Your Microsoft Excel skills are sound and you will have demonstrated the capability to form healthy working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
