About the role
Are you a strong accounting Up & Comer with at least 2+ years experience? Wanting to join a large finance team and be supported through your accounting journey? 

Join a supportive and collaborative finance team within a growing business based in Brookvale, offering 2 days working from home. This is a permanent Assistant Accountant opportunity, ideal for someone looking to build on their accounting foundations and grow their career within a stable organisation.

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end processes, and assisting with a broad range of accounting and finance duties. This role offers exposure across the finance function and the opportunity to develop your technical skills in a professional environment.

The responsibilities:
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities
  • Complete allocated Balance Sheet Reconciliations using Blackline software
  • Prepare and process journal entries to ensure accurate general ledger records
  • Assist with supplier payments and maintain up-to-date accounts payable invoices
  • Coordinate with sales and purchasing teams to process drop-ship and direct-to-customer orders
  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
  • Respond to internal and external queries regarding financial transactions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Provide support during audit and tax engagements
  • Perform general administrative duties to support the finance function
About you:
  • Previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or accounting support role
  • Good work ethic, fast-learner and keen to get stuck into the role! 
  • Well-organised with the ability to manage deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
