About the Role

A dynamic opportunity is available for an energetic and commercially minded Business Development Manager to take ownership of a growing portfolio within a major global manufacturer of heavy machinery and high‑performance construction equipment.

In this role, you’ll lead end‑to‑end sales activity across Western Australia—building pipelines, engaging contractors, and driving growth across civil construction, infrastructure, mining services, and quarry operations.
This is a hands‑on, field‑based position suited to someone who thrives on autonomy, relationship‑building, and technical product engagement. You’ll be regularly on site with customers, conducting equipment walk‑arounds, identifying project opportunities, and delivering tailored demonstrations that showcase capability and value.

If you enjoy working with sophisticated machinery, influencing complex buying decisions, and growing market share in a competitive sector, this role offers significant scope for career development.

Duties
  • Manage end‑to‑end sales of earthmoving and heavy equipment across allocated WA territories
  • Actively build sales pipelines through prospecting, cold outreach, site visits, and contractor engagement
  • Grow market share across civil, construction, quarry, and mining services customers
  • Conduct detailed equipment demonstrations, walk‑arounds, and capability presentations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with dealer, distributor, and project partners
  • Monitor project activity, market trends, upcoming tenders, and emerging opportunities
  • Prepare quotes, proposals, and commercial documentation, supporting negotiation throughout the sales cycle
  • Maintain accurate CRM entries, sales reporting, and forecasting
  • Represent the brand at expos, industry events, demonstrations, and customer‑led activities
  • Collaborate with service, product, operations, and technical teams to ensure strong customer outcomes
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in capital equipment sales across construction machinery, agriculture, mining, automotive, or related industrial sectors
  • Strong understanding of civil construction, resources, projects, and contractor environments
  • Confidence discussing specifications, load charts, attachments, operational applications, and technical features
  • Demonstrated ability to build long‑term commercial relationships and influence decision‑makers
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Highly organised with a strategic approach to territory planning and travel
  • A valid Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly across WA
