About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Finance and partnering closely with the Sales and Marketing teams, this Commercial Analyst role is pivotal in driving profitable growth across the Consumer division. You’ll take ownership of trade spend and promotional investment analysis, working across pricing strategies, rebate structures, and revenue forecasting. The role will focus on improving visibility of margin drivers, enhancing the promotional planning process, and helping identify revenue leakage and commercial opportunities. You’ll also contribute to month-end reporting, P&L reviews, and forecasting cycles, while supporting the rollout of BI tools and continuous improvement projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the analysis and optimisation of trade spend, rebates, and pricing initiatives.
- Developing tools to assess promotional ROI and recommending spend reallocation based on performance.
- Partnering with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to align on commercial plans and track execution.
- Contributing to month-end close processes and providing timely P&L reporting.
- Assisting with rolling forecasts, budgeting, and post-month reviews across key customer accounts.
You are a commercially focused analyst or management accountant with experience in FMCG or retail. You enjoy diving into the detail, understanding margin drivers, and helping non-finance stakeholders make better decisions. You’ll be CPA or CA qualified (or working towards it), with strong Excel and BI system skills. You’re confident navigating large datasets and working cross-functionally in fast-paced environments. Prior experience working on trade spend, pricing, or promotional analysis will be highly regarded.
