About the role:
Reporting to the GM of Finance, the Commercial Finance Manager plays an important role in enhancing sustained business excellence by establishing and upholding best practices, generating insightful reports and analysis, and facilitating data-driven decision-making. The key focus is to optimise revenue, margins, and profits while minimising any potential loss. The Commercial Finance Manager adeptly leads the business, ensuring that all transactions align with company goals, policies, procedures, accounting standards, and robust internal controls.
Responsibilities:
- Be the go-to and lead financial reporting and analysis expert.
- Ensure that reporting aligns with various operating business models, including Data Analysis, SAAS, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Distribution.
- Preparation of monthly management reports and analysis.
- Analyse and challenge existing business practices to enhance overall performance and guide operational stakeholders through change.
- Ensure alignment of items, BOMs, suppliers, customers, pricing, projects, and business models with targeted margins and profitability.
- Develop KPIs, create budgets and forecasts, build relationships, and champion projects to improve financial performance and minimize negative drivers, such as stock obsolescence and revenue leakage.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement best practice process.
- Plan, report, and ensure compliance with financially impacting processes, procedures, practices, accounting standards, and policies. Support audits, implement corrective actions, and maintain a team of trained staff to mitigate resource-related compliance failures.
Skills and Experience:
Tertiary qualification and qualified CPA/CA. Industry exposure to Manufacturing or other product-based industry. You have a minimum of 3 years in a Finance Manager or Commercial Finance Manager role with demonstrated hands on process improvement and stakeholder management skills. You will have great communication skills to partner with the wider business and senior management. A drive to offer commercial support and key commercial insights to improve the performance of the group.
