A well-established privately owned retail business is seeking a capable and hands-on Company Accountant to lead day-to-day financial operations at their Queensland head office. This role is ideal for an accountant who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working closely with operational leaders to add value beyond the numbers.

You will take ownership of all core accounting functions and play a key role in improving financial visibility across the business. The scope is end-to-end and will include:

• Full responsibility for monthly accounts
• Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare monthly management reports, P&L and balance sheet reviews
• Maintain oversight of inventory, costing and margin reporting
• Ensure compliance with tax, BAS, and audit requirements in conjunction with external advisors
• Support systems and process improvements to drive efficiency

You will possess:

• CA/CPA qualification (or studying towards)
• Strong accounting and Excel skills in a small company environment
• A practical, detail-oriented mindset and ability to manage competing priorities
• A confident and collaborative style
