Reporting to the Credit Team Leader, you will be responsible for the following, but not limited to;

  • Ownership of a designated portfolio approx. 1000 accounts
  • Outbound telephone calls to ensure overdue accounts are addressed efficiently and on time
  • Monthly ledger review with manager to discuss status of portfolio
  • Escalate non-paying customers in line with Credit teams’ escalation process
  • Negotiate customer payment agreements and submit to manager for approval
  • Monitor existing payment agreements and escalate non-payment
  • Handle hardship customers cases as directed by management
  • Assist the business partner with customer collections
  • Provide feedback to sales on debtor issues and request site visits or performance updates
  • Maintain accounts receivable ledger to ensure it accurately reflects the position of each credit account
  • Keep up to date records of all communications with customers in the system
Candidate skillset required;
  • Proven experience in successful Credit Controller role
  • Excellent numeracy skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with a large ERP preferred but not essential 
  • Intermediate Excel skills required (VLOOPUP and Pivot)
  • Proficient PC Literacy (MS Word and Excel)
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise work
  • Team player attitude 
  • Ability to naturally build relationships 
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Process improvement experience or involvement
