We are partnering with an established and highly successful international law firm to appoint a Director / Salaried Partner (Non-Equity) for the launch of its Australian practice in Western Australia. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in establishing and shaping a new legal operation, supported by a well-regarded overseas firm with a strong track record in its core practice area.
The Role:
This is a senior, part-time position (circa 1–3 days per week) offering significant flexibility and autonomy. You will act as the responsible legal practitioner for the Western Australian practice, providing oversight of regulatory compliance, governance and professional standards, while contributing to the strategic development of the firm.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as Legal Practitioner Director / responsible solicitor (subject to approval)
- Overseeing compliance with WA regulatory and professional obligations
- Establishing and maintaining governance, risk and compliance frameworks
- Supporting the development of policies, procedures and operational structures
- Providing senior legal oversight and strategic input as the practice grows
- Collaborating with an established international leadership team
You are a senior WA-admitted solicitor with strong experience in legal practice, governance and regulatory compliance. You bring sound judgement, a high level of professionalism and the ability to operate autonomously in a flexible, evolving environment.
Key requirements include:
- Admission in Western Australia with a current practising certificate
- Eligibility to act as a Legal Practitioner Director
- Strong understanding of WA regulatory frameworks, professional conduct and trust obligations
- Experience in legal practice governance, compliance or leadership roles
- Ability to work independently while contributing strategically to a growing practice
