An exciting immediate start role with a industry-leading organisation currently exists in order to fill a key role in their finance team. Taking a hands-on approach, this Finance Manager's position will help leadin the management and communication of the companies’ financial & corporate accounting activities on both a domestic and international scale. Initially this will be a contractual assignment, however there is the opportunity for this role to be extended.
The responsibilities
Reporting into the GM of Finance, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
- Preparation of 3-way financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements (monthly, half year and full year)
- Assisting the financial controller in the preparation of consolidation reporting for all group entities (business combinations, eliminations, FX valuation and all other tasks needed to ensure compliance with AASB Standards)
- Assisting preparation of annual Statutory financial statements, account schedules, notes & disclosures.
- Review ABS reporting prepared by the team before submission
- Driving month-end, quarter-end, half-year and year-end closing process as per Group timetable;
- Managing year-end audit process with external auditors and any other external or internal stakeholder requirements.
- Perform critical and key balance sheet reconciliation on behalf of the financial controller
- Overseeing the monthly and quarterly reconciliation of GL accounts as per timetable and policy and other financial records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies, for presentation to financial controller
- Oversee technical review of all journals (project or otherwise) before and after posting
- Manage monthly indirect tax compliance as required. This includes GST, PAYG, Workcover and Payroll Tax initiatives
- Managing annual FBT process, as well as implementing best practice tracking throughout the year.
- Managing annual Income Tax Return (ITR) process.
- On Project, supporting Project Finance Managers in resolving technical, posting, recharges and other allocation queries that may arise
- Active involvement with budget and forecasting initiatives as required
- Other ad hoc accounting duties as required.
- CA or CPA qualifications
- At least 8 years experience in Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Experience supervising teams
- SAP exposure is highly desired
- Infrastructure or construction experience is essential
- Exposure to PowerBI will be highly favoured
- Extensive corporate training
