About the role

The Financial Accountant role will be responsible for supporting the Finance function and enabling better decision-making by the business during an exciting period of growth. The role is an ideal opportunity for a strong accountant to develop their skills in a commercially focused environment. Key​ ​responsibilities
  • Supervision of accounts payable and receivable functions, including customer onboarding, cash allocations and overdue account management.
  • Daily oversight of local and offshore AR and AP team activities.
  • Ownership of daily and weekly cashflow forecast preparation prior to review with the Financial Controller.
  • Invoice and Trade Finance facilities reconciliation, audit and forecasting, including future drawdown requirements.
  • Month-end accounts preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, including commentary and insights across sales, inventory and overheads.
  • Timely submission and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Intercompany AP/AR reconciliation and management.
  • Understanding the importance of a robust control environment and identifying gaps in existing processes.
  • Review of accruals and prepayments to ensure correct timing of revenue and cost recognition.
  • Fixed asset register and depreciation schedule management.
 
About you
  • A qualified CA/ACCA/CPA, with a minimum 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Have a minimum of 4 years experience in a hands-on, technical finance role.
  • Be detail oriented, focused on ensuring accuracy in all aspects of accounts preparation.
  • Show a desire to learn, grow and develop with our business.
  • Be highly organised and have a track record of managing multiple deadlines. 
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a willingness to work with others to achieve shared goals.
  • Ability to exercise professional scepticism and “see the big picture” for the business.
  • Stay accountable and be an open communicator, flagging and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Cashflow management and reporting are prerequisites to success in this position, with budgeting and forecasting experience being advantageous but not a prerequisite.
  • Possess strong Excel skills, with a focus on process automation and efficiency.
  • Experience with Xero is desirable.
