The Role
A fantastic opportunity exists for a driven and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join a collaborative Group Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting corporate finance functions including monthly reporting, tax compliance, and internal and external audit processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of transactional accounting in line with accounting standards
- Support the preparation of monthly internal reports and statutory external reporting
- Assist with the preparation and lodgement of BAS, GST, FBT and income tax returns
- Perform general ledger maintenance, month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Contribute to half-year and full-year statutory audit processes
- Provide timely delivery of divisional month-end results
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Finance, Shared Services and Treasury
- Drive continuous improvement and uphold best practice within the finance function
- CA or CPA qualified, with a relevant tertiary degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2–3 years’ experience in business services from a first or second-tier accounting firm
- Prior exposure to ASX-listed reporting environments (desirable)
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation frameworks (income tax, GST, FBT)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a dynamic team environment
