A fantastic opportunity is now available for a Financial Accountant to join their head office team located in Melbourne’s South-East. This is a broad and hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, multi-entity environment and enjoys being part of an engaged and collaborative finance function.

 

Reporting to the GM of Finance, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reports.
  • Maintain the general ledger, including month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee fixed assets, including capitalisation, disposals, register maintenance and periodic audits with regional managers.
  • Support Work-In-Progress reporting across multiple projects and business units.
  • Assist in the preparation of BAS, income tax instalments, and annual FBT and tax returns in collaboration with external advisors.
  • Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Play a key role in refining finance processes across AP, AR, and payroll.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process and year-end financial deliverables.
  • Support system upgrades, integration testing and broader business improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will be CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion) and bring at least 4+ years of financial accounting experience, ideally within a services or multi-site operational business. You will be commercially minded, technically strong, and confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. Strong Excel skills are essential, and experience with reporting tools like Power BI will be highly regarded.
