Our client is a multinational organisation which provides critical services to the medical and health industry here in Australia. Owned by one of the world's largest and most prestigious Universities, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the business in an initial 6 month contract role.
The Role - Reporting To The Financial Controller
Your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including balance sheet, profit & loss, and cash-flow statements, and provide analysis of variances and results.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, expense management, journal postings, sub-ledger review, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of review items.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and amortisation.
- Prepare year-end statutory accounts and support internal and external audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and statutory requirements.
- Provide support across broader finance and procurement activities as required.
- Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems, processes, and reporting, and support key system integration projects.
- Collaborate with and provide guidance, coaching, and support to finance team members.
- Perform additional tasks aligned with the role’s scope and capabilities as required.
Skills & Experience
We’re seeking a CA/ACCA/CPA-qualified professional (or part qualified) with at least 3 years’ experience in financial accounting, ideally with a chartered upbringing that has built strong technical foundations. You will have exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in a multinational business will be highly advantageous.
