Sharp & Carter is proud to be partnering with one of Victoria's most reputable health services provider in recruiting a bright and talented Senior Financial Accountant to join their growing and dynamic financial reporting team.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager and overseeing a team of 1-2 junior staff on a day-to-day basis, you will be to provide assistance in leading the Financial Reporting team in maintaining the integrity of financial reports in a timely and accurate manner. You will be responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reports in line with Australian Accounting Standards. As such, some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Review, investigate and monitor monthly financial information including:
- Revenue recognition
- Payroll
- Monthly accruals
- Depreciation
- Balance sheet accounts
- Liaise with key month-end stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information
- Prepare monthly reports and commentary for senior management and the Board
- Ensure compliance with all Statutory requirements
- Coordinate and ensure monthly completion of Balance Sheets reconciliation
- Resolve issues with data integrity and processing efficiencies
- Identify opportunities for process and system improvement, recommend remedies to the Finance Manager and support the implementation of approved initiatives
- Ad-hoc reporting
Degree qualified in the fields of Accounting or Finance, you will have worked previously in a financial reporting role where you have developed your understanding and expertise of the accounting standards and their application. You will have a high level of attention to detail as well as well-developed written and verbal communications skills
