Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will be responsible for delivering timely financial statements, managing compliance, and supporting business decision-making through financial insight and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end financial accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards
- Coordinate and manage external audits, tax filings, and statutory compliance
- Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial data
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
- Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to support operational and strategic decisions
- Lead and develop the accounting team, fostering continuous improvement and professional growth
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax advisors, and banks
- Support system improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial controller or senior accounting role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and compliance requirements
- Experience managing financial reporting, audits, and budgeting in a small to mid-sized business environment
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication and leadership skills
