Organisation:
We are partnering with a large, values-led institution with a long-standing presence and a modern, growth-oriented outlook. The organisation operates across multiple locations and portfolios and plays a significant role in supporting communities, skills development, and long-term economic outcomes.
Finance is a trusted partner to the business, not a back-office function. The team is embedded in strategic planning, investment decisions, and performance discussions, and is expected to challenge, influence and add value.

Position:
It is an opportunity to sit at the centre of strategy, performance, and governance within a large, multi-portfolio organisation with a complex operating environment and a meaningful public purpose.

As Financial Planning & Reporting Lead, you will partner closely with the CFO, Head of Commercial Finance, and senior executive leadership to shape financial direction, elevate decision-making, and strengthen the organisation’s medium- and long-term financial position. Your work will directly inform executive forums and governing bodies, influencing outcomes at the highest level.

Your remit will include:
  • Owning executive-level management reporting for senior leadership and governing committees, delivering concise, decision-ready insights
  • Leading medium-term financial strategy, including budgets, forecasts, scenario modelling, and risk analysis
  • Acting as a strategic partner to executive stakeholders across revenue planning, investment decisions, and performance management
  • Designing and improving planning, budgeting, and forecasting frameworks to increase accuracy, agility, and confidence in decision-making
  • Developing sophisticated financial models, costings, and business cases to support new initiatives and optimise resource allocation
  • Playing a leadership role in major system and reporting transformation initiatives, with a strong focus on automation and data integrity
  • Championing disciplined financial management, value-for-money principles, and continuous improvement across the organisation
Candidate:
  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Significant experience in FP&A within large, complex organisations (public sector or similar)
  • Industry experience in environments such as health, education, or service-based institutions
  • Advanced expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and scenario analysis across large datasets and enterprise systems
  • A proven ability to prepare and present high-impact financial insights to executive leaders and governance forums
  • Strong commercial acumen, sound judgement, and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders
  • The ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous environments while maintaining rigour and attention to detail
