As a Financial Reporting Analyst, you’ll play a key role in delivering regulatory reporting requirements and supporting business teams through process improvements and projects. You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting while driving efficiency and compliance.
The responsibilities
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Prepare and submit quarterly and annual Level 1 APRA returns, semiannual Level 2 returns, and other regulatory reports.
- Conduct analytical reviews to support APRA submission approvals.
- Assist with APRA queries and regulatory information requests.
- Provide financial data to support capital adequacy calculations.
- Work closely with Finance Operations, Reserving, and Capital teams for reporting inputs.
- Contribute to projects focused on productivity, system enhancements, and process improvements.
- Stay up to date with regulatory developments and ensure compliance with accounting standards and APRA regulations.
- Prepare documentation, accounting treatment papers, and support audits with timely evidence.
- 3+ years’ experience in statutory/regulatory reporting within insurance or a similar industry.
- CPA or CA qualification.
- Experience preparing APRA returns and knowledge of APRA Prudential Standards (desirable).
- Strong technical accounting skills and understanding of financial reporting frameworks.
- Advanced Excel and strong communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently with a proactive mindset
