You will be joining a collaborative and high-performing Corporate Finance team that partners closely with divisional stakeholders to drive integrity, insight and commercial rigour across the business.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Group Accountant plays a critical role in delivering accurate and compliant group reporting across 80+ entities. This position offers exposure to technical accounting, tax, consolidation and governance within a sophisticated, multi-entity environment.
This is a high-impact role suited to someone who enjoys ownership, technical depth and partnering across a broad stakeholder group.
Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly ledger close process and review divisional month-end reporting
- Prepare annual consolidated financial statements across 80+ entities
- Deliver bi-monthly consolidated balance sheet reporting (including US reporting requirements)
- Support year-end planning, statutory reporting and audit readiness
- Prepare tax effect accounting and deferred tax calculations
- Coordinate BAS, ATO reporting (including TPAR and Payment Times Reporting) and other compliance requirements
- Assist in managing statutory, tax and regulatory obligations across the group
- Provide technical accounting guidance including application of AASB 15 and AASB 16
- Maintain entity structures within the consolidation system and support ERP enhancements
- Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes, controls and documentation
- Manage intercompany loan reconciliations and working capital transfers
- CPA or CA qualified
- 5+ years’ experience within a Chartered Accounting environment
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of Australian Accounting Standards
- Experience working in a multi-entity or group consolidation environment
- Exposure to financial consolidation systems and ERP platforms (Sage Intacct highly regarded)
- Advanced Excel capability
- High attention to detail with strong analytical capability
- Confident stakeholder engagement skills
- Able to manage multiple deadlines in a structured, organised manner
