About the role
A truly rare immediate start opportunity with an industry-leading national organisation currently exists in order to lead as a key role in their expanding finance team. Taking a hands-on approach, this position will help assist in the management and communication of the companies’ financial & corporate accounting activities on a national scale. Initially this will be a contractual assignment, however there is the genuine view for this role to be extended and/or made permanent. This will be a 100% work-from-home role, and will remain the case for the next 12 months at the very minimum.
The responsibilities
Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);

- Effectively direct and control financial and administration activities across the organisation to achieve compliance with legal, finance, corporate and statutory matters
- Provide senior & executive leadership with reliable and timely analysed information and strategic assessments of financial performance and position to ensure results of the planning and operational activities meet corporate goals, governance policies and regulations.
- Supervise and direct the financial, statutory and compliance activities and operational procedures in line with corporate policies and procedures
- Control and facilitate reporting and performance monitoring of Shared Services expense control, preparation of tenders, external audits, administration of contracts, insurance and risk arrangements
- Ensure the correct and timely collection of financial information and the preparation and management reports, forecasts and consolidated results for the organisation
- Lead, develop and coach the team to be value-adding business partners that provide financial reporting, analysis and insights to support and improve business decision-making
- Drive continuous improvement in systems, reporting, process and efficiency
Ideally, you will be a true finance leader. You will be technically excellent, understand the importance of “best in practice” financial control and can support a variety of stakeholders effectively. Furthermore you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross-functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will be passionate, resilient and have worked in a large complex organisation previously.
