An exciting role with a globally recognised employer of choice currently exists in order to fill a key role in their finance team. Taking a hands-on approach, this Lead Tax Analyst's position will help assist in the management and communication of the companies’ financial & corporate accounting activities on both a domestic and international scale.
The responsibilities
Reporting into the Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
- Deep understanding of tax principles and regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Management of the tax filing calendar independently and influences where possible.
- Conveys critical impacts to leadership and departments outside of finance.
- Ability to provide tax advice or review third party tax advice and provide thoughtful input.
- Provides thought leadership by staying abreast of regulatory changes, and ensuring adherence to evolving regulations.
- Preparation of FBT, GST/BAS returns for the ANZ entities
- Assist with Payroll tax as required, including review of various Annual Payroll Tax reconciliations and SG obligation.
- Assist the Tax Manager with a review of Superannuation guarantee as required.
- Analyse and advise on GST treatment for products
- Assist the tax manager with indirect taxes advice relating to acquisitions & divestment
- Proactively seeks opportunities for process improvement
- Lead or support projects identified as supporting strategic objectives for the finance team or broader business.
- Build and maintains a relationship with key stakeholders - understands their needs and expectations and also how and when to best engage with them.
The successful candidate will have the following criteria:
- CA or CPA qualified
- Strong commercial tax background or Big4 trained
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Experience with both direct & indirect tax.
