A leading national logistics and infrastructure business is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to take charge of maintenance operations at one of Australia’s most advanced facilities.
With major automation projects underway and a fleet of high-value assets in continual operation, this role is key to ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safe performance across the site’s 24/7 maintenance function.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, you’ll lead a crew of experienced trades – mechanical, electrical, and contracted specialists – to deliver planned and corrective maintenance across heavy mobile and automated equipment.
You’ll manage day-to-day performance, drive safety-first culture, and partner closely with operations and planning teams to keep equipment uptime high and maintenance costs on target.
Core responsibilities include:
- Leading and coaching trades teams across workshop and field activities.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental and company procedures.
- Driving asset reliability and preventive maintenance strategies through CMMS (Maximo).
- Coordinating contractors and suppliers to achieve schedule, quality and cost goals.
- Promoting continuous improvement and supporting automation systems implementation.
You combine trade or tertiary qualifications in mechanical or ideally electrical engineering with 5+ years’ leadership experience in maintenance operations – ideally within ports, mining, logistics, or heavy industrial environments.
Key attributes include:
- Proven ability to lead teams within a high-risk, unionised environment.
- Strong knowledge of heavy fixed and mobile plant, control systems, and reliability metrics (MTBF/MTTR).
- High level of computer literacy and familiarity with modern CMMS tools.
- A collaborative leadership style and commitment to safety and standards.
