The opportunity
This critical leadership role reports to a GM Analytics and Design Services who is collaborative and a champion for her team. An operational automation expert, she is now looking to hire a Manager to lead a team of business analysts within the Modelling and Optimisation group. This leadership role is responsible for building commercial transport knowledge within the team so they can deliver great outcomes for their customers. This is not a technical role but an operational leadership role that will help the team to deliver the right solutions for customers. The Manager Transport Network Design and Optimisation will build capability and promote this expertise across the organisation. This vital team is the interface between IT/Technology and the business so requires strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, and a solutions mindset.
Your experience There are four areas that you must have experience in. First is your knowledge at an operational and/or commercial level in transport, supply chain and logistics. You understand the levers, issues and pressures that drive transport operations and warehousing functions. Secondly you are a generous Manager and Leader. The ‘air traffic controller’ for your team you can manage pipelines, shape projects, share knowledge and give guidance to your less experienced team of analysts. Third, is stakeholder engagement. You can build relationships with your customers, ask the right questions, identify problems, and offer practical and valued solutions. Lastly you are a champion of change and you can influence outcomes so key transformational projects are embedded throughout the business.
