We’re seeking a hands-on and experienced operations leader who thrives in fast-paced, delivery-focused environments. You’ll be someone who naturally leads from the front, communicates effectively at all levels, and brings calm, structured thinking in complex or time-sensitive situations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, develop and coach a high-performing team across the production, transport and maintenance functions - overseeing 150+ staff across across two sites.
- Drive a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement across quality, safety, and productivity KPIs.
- Oversee scheduling, capacity planning, maintenance, and logistics to ensure high DIFOT performance.
- Manage budgets and operational spend with a focus on cost control and asset optimisation.
- Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with WH&S, COR and relevant environmental standards.
- Develop strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including union engagement.
- Collaborate on capital investment plans and improvement initiatives across equipment and processes.
- Support regional and interstate branches (occasional travel required)
- Senior operational leadership within manufacturing or heavy industry environments
- Leading large, diverse teams in fast-paced and customer-focused operations
- Strong people leadership and coaching capability with a collaborative management style
- Driving safety-first cultures and implementing WHS best practices
- Working in multi-site or shift-based operational structures
- Implementing process improvement, lean manufacturing or automation projects
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or similar is advantageous
