About the role
Due to the growth of the business, organically and through acquisitions, our client has created the role of Payroll & Accounts Manager to assist the Head of Finance in the day-to-day transactional operations of the business. Looking after a team of four staff across Payroll, Accounts and Reconciliations, you will manage and oversee all of the transactional processes, along with driving process improvements, process mapping and delivering a high performance team. 

Role and responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Finance, and managing a team of 4 you will be responsible for the following:
  • Lead the groups payroll function for multiple entities with end to end processing for over 700+ employees
  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of multiple pay runs (weekly, fortnightly and monthly) 
  • Interpretation of numerous EBAs and awards, and updated legislative requirements 
  • Oversee the accounts payable function, ensuing that suppliers are paid on time and accurately
  • Oversee the accounts reconciliations function
  • Pro-actively seek on-going improvements and efficiencies in all activities, focusing on reducing costs and working collaboratively with the business to add real value
  • Support the delivery of strategic projects ensuring achievement of key performance indicators
  • Assisting to provide a safe, compliant and sustainable environment including Shared Services transactional process governance, compliance and controls
  • Lead, develop and consistently strive to achieve excellence in performance of the team to deliver high quality service, and ensure effective coordination of the work across all functions
  • Foster and develop collaborative and trusted relationships across the organisation and with key stakeholders, both internally and externally 

Candidate profile
  • You will be a a skilled candidate with an in depth knowledge of best practice in Shared Services
  • Experience overseeing a complex Payroll function
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability and passion to coach & develop a team 
  • Ability to manage upwards and downwards with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • A strong strategic partner to work within an environment that supports their employees
  • Proven track record in successful delivery of process improvement and change management
