My client are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Part-Time Payroll & Backup Accounts Officer to join in this newly created position. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the company's payroll processes and providing essential support to the accounts department. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

You will work in a small team environment, the finance department includes;

- CFO
- Accounts Payable 
- Accounts Receivable
- Payroll (YOU)
- Financial Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting into the CFO, who will be your back up in Payroll, you will be responsible for but not limited to;
  • Payroll Management:
    • Process fortnightly payroll for 130 employees, accurately and on time.
    • Maintain and update employee payroll records.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
    • Handle payroll queries and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Accounts Back Up (when required):
    • Assist with accounts receivable and payable functions as required. 
    • Reconcile bank statements and accounts.
    • Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
    • Provide backup support to the Accounts Officer during peak periods and absences.
  • General Duties:
    • Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
    • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements.
    • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth financial operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience in payroll processing and basic accounting functions.
  • Proficiency in Employment Hero would be highly favourable
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of current payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
