An established organisation operating within a large, complex payroll environment is seeking an experienced Payroll Systems Specialist to support and optimise their payroll system operations.
This role will focus heavily on PayGlobal system support, troubleshooting and system optimisation, ensuring payroll runs are completed accurately and on time. Working closely with Payroll, HR, Finance and IT stakeholders, the successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying system issues, resolving defects and maintaining payroll system integrity.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone with strong payroll systems expertise who can operate calmly under pressure, particularly during payroll close, and who is comfortable responding to critical issues as they arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert support and maintenance for the PayGlobal payroll system, ensuring reliability and optimal performance
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve payroll system issues that may impact payroll processing or pay close deadlines
- Investigate root causes of recurring payroll system issues and implement long-term system or process improvements
- Act as an escalation point for system-related payroll issues and ensure payroll deadlines are met
- Support payroll system configuration including pay rules, award interpretation settings, system interfaces and controls
- Assist with testing, validation and deployment of system updates, upgrades or patches
- Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, IT and external vendors to resolve system issues and enhance payroll processes
- Proven experience in a Payroll Systems Specialist or Payroll Systems Analyst role
- Strong hands-on experience with PayGlobal payroll systems
- Background working within complex payroll environments with multiple awards or enterprise agreements
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot payroll system issues under tight payroll deadlines
- Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and pay close dependencies
- Systems-savvy with experience supporting payroll system configuration, integrations or upgrades
- • Ability to communicate technical payroll issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Flexible and responsive approach, with the ability to support urgent payroll system issues when required
