A leading food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Regulatory Affairs Manager to join their team. The Role
The Regulatory Affairs Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of regulatory compliance, supporting product development initiatives, and ensuring alignment with Australian and international food standards, including FSANZ requirements. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive compliance throughout the product lifecycle and maintain strong relationships with external regulatory bodies. This role will be based in the inner suburbs of Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and interpret Australian and international food regulations to ensure all products and processes comply with the latest standards.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update internal policies and procedures to mitigate compliance risks.
- Provide regulatory guidance for new product development, including label reviews, ingredient compliance, and health claim assessments.
- Assist with product registration, certification, and licensing applications.
- Deliver regulatory training to internal teams to promote understanding and adherence to relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to embed compliance into all stages of product development and production.
- Maintain positive relationships with Australian government regulatory authorities and certification agencies to support the introduction of new ingredients and raw materials.
- Participate in government and industry seminars to stay ahead of regulatory developments.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Science, Nutrition, Law, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in regulatory compliance within the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian food regulatory system, particularly FSANZ standards.
- Experience in infant formula, dairy, or health food sectors is highly regarded.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance.
